Over the years, we've had a lot of beach trips. The beach can be a great experience... but there's plenty to consider when planning to make it a success. For our family of six, with kids ranging from 19 year old to 13 months, I have to consider what toys/gear each will need to stay entertained, food and drinks, everything to prevent sunburns, and a comfortable setup for the adults.
This is definitely not a comprehensive list, but here are the items we have accumulated over the last few years that I now consider MUST HAVES along with some pics from our most recent beach adventures.

We bought this for the beach and it was absolutely AMAZING in keeping our toddler from being burned and she even ended up napping in it. Now I'm using it in the backyard too when she wants to be outside playing. It keeps bugs out in addition to keeping her cool.
A definite must have to keep cool and avoid getting too much sun. (Ours is tan but same thing.) And the sand bags keep it from blowing away which are included with this one.
We've had this cooler for about three years now and absolutely LOVE it! It will keep your food and drinks cold easily for about three days. A big plus is that it has cup holder and a tray on top and pulls easily through the sand.
